Two women shopping at an Illinois thrift store were absolutely shocked when their day of sorting through second-hand items turned up a surprising and creepy surprise.
In a video shared by TikTok user @mrslexiwright, the women were looking through items on a shelf when they noticed a set of two small ceramic trinket boxes. One was labeled “My first curl.” The other said “My first tooth.” Both boxes were pink with a cat on the lid.
At first, one of the women picked up the box that is meant to hold a baby’s hair following their first haircut. Then they picked up the one meant for their first lost tooth, and that’s when they noticed a noise coming from inside the box. They both immediately gasped, believing that whoever donated the box left a child’s tooth inside.
The lid was held on with thick tape, and the woman holding the box immediately began to peel away the adhesive to see what was inside. To her surprise, there were pieces of small teeth in the box. “No! Baby’s first teeth,” she said before starting to laugh.

Wanting to know if the other box held hair, she did the same. When she opened it, there were locks of brown hair inside. “You mean the Goodwill didn’t think it was a good idea to take the tooth out?” one of the women joked after making her discoveries. She later revealed that the items were priced at $2.95. “Some mom is wrong for that,” the Illinois woman stated.
The women weren’t the only ones stunned by the find. Viewers were also surprised by the Goodwill faux pas. “I cannot get over them just leaving that in there, that’s insane,” one person commented. “I’M LAUGHING SO HARD,” another wrote. “This is so sad,” a third person chimed in. “That’s scary,” a fourth person added.
