Social media users seemingly can’t get enough of this man’s “Mission” either, as the clip has certainly gone viral.
The TikTok video then starts out with the older man walking up to a group of kids playing a game of pickup basketball. However, the hoop they are using does not have a net on it. Anyone who plays basketball knows that it can be an absolute nightmare to hoop without a net, and this New York man gets it, as well. He then tells the kids that if they give him like ten minutes, he will put a brand new net on the hoop they are using. The kids quickly agree, and the man gets right to work.
The clip also shows exactly how the New York man gets these repairs done so quickly. He can be seen carrying around a backpack that also functions as a ladder. He also carries the nets around with him anywhere he goes. The clip also shows the man putting the net on the hoop, as he explains how to do so in a quick fashion.
TikTok Reacts To New York Man’s Basketball Hoop Makeovers
The TikTok comment section was seemingly delighted following this clip, as many users would hurry to leave behind a lot of praise for the older gentleman. “I put chain nets in my park. They last longer and the kids like the ching sound,” claimed one. Another wanted to know, “Why wouldn’t the NBA fund this?” “The Mamdani Effect. Be good to each other,” wrote one more. Finally, one last person’s comment also read, “Such a sweet kind of dorky mission he’s on. I love it!”
As the TikTok video continues, the New York man states that this kind of act is the least he can do. He also says that he understands that there are bigger issues in the world. Yet, “This is something I can do,” he can be heard saying. Sadly, there are just not a lot of people like this in the world, and it shows.
