‘We Thought Maybe He Was Dead’: Oklahoma Bride’s Father Narrates Wedding Day Chaos
One Oklahoma couple’s wedding day was not at all what they expected when things took a dramatic turn, making it one chaotic ceremony that the guests and the bride and groom will never forget.
In a TikTok video shared by the bride @aud.ruark, the wedding ceremony looked more like a TV sitcom than a romantic moment. The clip starts off with the bride standing at the altar in her dress with her hands covering her face. Her bridesmaids are huddled around her, and before it’s explained, it’s clear that something is wrong.
Then the camera quickly pans over to show the groom and his groomsmen huddled up together a few feet away. There is a lot of chatter between the two groups, as well as the guests still sitting in the pews. Thankfully, the bride’s father explained exactly what was going on, since he was the person filming.
A Fainting Groomsman, a Nosebleed, and a Missing Minister
“This dude passed out about 5 minutes ago. We thought maybe he was dead, but he’s okay,” he narrates as he points the camera at the back of a man in a black suit. “Audrey has a nosebleed. She’s up there,” he says of his daughter, the bride. “We’re almost through the wedding,” he adds.
He then turns the camera around to show his wife, who laughs it off. He also turns the camera on himself, but returns to the chaotic scene. To make matters worse, the bride also confirmed in the caption of the video that there was more drama, as they were forced to find a new minister to perform the ceremony just 10 minutes before the wedding.
While many would let the drama ruin the day, it seems that the Oklahoma couple and their families took it in stride. There was laughter and caring, and in a follow-up video, the bride shares that the day may not have been perfect, but it was the best day.
This Wasn’t Even On the List of Common Wedding Disasters
The internet loved the video, sharing their thoughts and well wishes to the newlyweds. “The best marriages have a great wedding story,” one person said. “The narration and camera work is top tier. This will make for a funny memory later,” said another. “They’re going to have a great marriage. Only uphill from here,” a third person wrote.
According to Wedding Venue Map, the most common wedding day disasters include wardrobe malfunctions, vendor issues, bad weather, flower problems, and issues with the DJ or dance floor. These are largely things couples can plan around in advance. However, fainting, nosebleeds, and missing ministers didn’t make the list.
